1961
April 1, 1961 - the official inauguration of Podem.
The Bulgaria based state owned production company was created to supply the crane industries in all Eastern European countries and former Soviet Union with electrical wire rope hoists.
1968
First Gold medal prize from the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv.
In its history the Company has been awarded more than 10 Gold medal prizes.
1971
Podem started international sales and created distributions in 40 countries around the world including Western Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America represented by its commercial structures Balkancar-PODEM and other PODEM brand names.
(Prior to the democratic changes in Bulgaria, the state owned production companies were distributing their products abroad through foreign trade companies with exclusivity granted from the state).
1975
Podem became the biggest hoists manufacturer worldwide.
Production capacity reached 100,000 wire rope hoists per year.
1981
The total number of hoists exported to Russia and the former Soviet republics reached one million.
1991
The M type of hoist entered production lines covering the range up to 50t.
1995
The Bulgarian Ministry of Economy initiated privatization of Podem AD. The state owned company was partially privatized.
1996
Production of 34 years old hoists series T was stopped. New series MT replaced T.
1999
The former state owned company was fully privatized.
The Company started to promote alone its only brand name PODEM. The foreign trade companies were no longer a part of the structure.
During that period a few other small hoists producers emerged capitalizing on the fully destroyed Soviet market and the non-restructured newly privatized company.
2002
The new company Podemcrane AD - the successor of Podem, started operation.
The Company continued to promote the Podem brand along with the new one Podemcrane.
2007
The MTM type of hoist replaces MT.
2007
The Company started engineering and manufacturing of industrial cranes for the local market (Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia) under the trademark Podemcrane.
2010
Podemcrane’s office in Moscow (Russia) was opened.
